"His Kind of Beautiful" Girls Retreat

We just had our first Girl's Retreat! It went so well and we had such a blast! Definitely the funniest late night game of Charades ever! These girls are such a blessing and so beautiful to me and to the Lord. I hope they took home some wisdom from the weekend. From learning how valuable they are the the Lord, and that He created each one of them (us) in His image & He is madly in love with us! We showed the deception behind the images we see in the media and in magazines, that the image of "perfect" we all strive for does not even exist! Hello, photoshop?! Not to mention the hours and hours it takes make-up artists and stylists to make celebs look the way they do. It is sad but we as woman see those images so much, we begin to critique the wonderful way that God made us, actually insulting God's creation that He calls wonderful! Learning that we are special simply because God made us! We talked about the secret weapon of modesty, and gave some pointers that are useful to everyone in how to decide what is "modest". All in all it was a great weekend, filled with games, a powerful drama, heartfelt messages, and intimate small groups where we learned so much about each other! Love our Pier students and can't wait to see my girls again!
