Exciting Happenings Part 2

Well, as I promised I am back on to share with you our other exciting news, that I think you, no doubt, know by now. For a few years now I have had this feeling like there was child (or children) missing from our family. I wasn't sure if it was through adoption (which we have talked alot about over the years) or if we were supposed to have another biological child. We had picked out a boy's name 10 years ago when we were going through the list of names for Amelia. It was our one and only back up in case she was a boy. Ezra. We loved the name, and it really stuck with us. So years later, that was what I felt in my heart, that Ezra was missing from our family. (As corny as that sounds, it's true!) So, every once in a while I would mention it to Michael, and he would tell me he was not feeling the same way. He would say, "Honey, you probably just need to spend more time with Jesus." LOL! So, I did and I prayed, that if it was the Lord's will, he would change Michael's heart.

To my surprise shortly before we moved to Gainesville Michael told me that he was okay with us trying to have another baby. He joked though that it would happen fast. I laughed and reminded him that the doctors had said they thought I had PCOS and it was hard to have kids, so if possible, it would take a while. We began to pray that is it was the Lord's will, he would make it happen. Well, to Michael's entertainment the very first month we were in Gainesville, I got pregnant! Now, we didn't know it for about 8 weeks, but sure enough there he was on the ultrasound! Everyone jokes that there is something in the water here at First Assembly! Now I must put a little plug in for natural family planning since I have so many friends that have heard of stories of it not working. For 8 years we have done nothing to prevent pregnancy except "natural family planning", and it worked for all those years! Then the first month that we purposefully did not use those methods, I got pregnant. Pretty legit I must say! Of course we were very disciplined during those 8 years, so that probably helps.

Anyway, on to the big news. We are expecting our 3rd child Ezra Judah Lugones any day now! The name was an easy pick since we had envisioned him for so long, and after researching its meaning, we came to love it even more. Ezra was a priest in the bible who is known for faithfully serving the Lord all the days of his life. Love that. Secondly, his name in Hebrew means "Strong help; Seer with Prophetic Vision". The word Ezra is used to describe help you cannot live without as used to describe what Eve was to Adam. I thought that was so cool! And Judah we just could not get over as a middle name. Michael would say, "What a great sports name, imagine it...Coming into the ring...Ezra...JUDAH...LUGONES!" (You have to hear it like a sportscaster in your head. :) But again, I love the meaning of Judah. too. In Hebrew Judah means, "He (Yahweh) is to be praised". What a powerful name this little guy has! I love all of our children's names. In Hebrew Micah means "He who resembles God", and Amelia means "Work of the Lord". So fitting, I think.

We are so excited to have this little guy become a part of our family! Amelia did not believe us AT ALL that I was pregnant. She kept saying, "This is not a funny trick." To which she finally blurted out, "Mom's too OLD to have another baby!" She finally wrapped her brain around the idea, and has fallen in love with him already. She kisses my belly and draws him pictures. So precious! I know she will be a great big sister! Micah is happy too. He has wanted a little brother for 15 years and I think had given up hope, Lol! I know he will be just as good a brother to him as he has been to Amelia. God is so faithful and we are so blessed! Looking back I am thankful for His timing, surely he knew this was the perfect place for us to be before we had our little man. God knows more than us, who knew?! Lol!
