Home Sweet Home
We just pulled in from our Christmas vacation down to Key West and Miami. What a memorable trip we had! Spending Noche Buenos and Christmas in Miami was so fun! Esther & Jose (Michael's aunt & uncle) roasted a pig (like the whole pig!) in their backyard and friends and family came to eat together. We had black beans and rice, yucca, salad, & Cuban bread, & if course pork! It was yummy! Ezra ate a whole plate of food. He loved it!!! For dessert it was a buffet of Spanish desserts. Pineapple dessert, Flan, Tres Leches and a Classic Christmas dessert that I can't remember the name of. It was like fried boniata & yucca topped with a honey sauce. It really tasted a lot like funnel cake. Good stuff!
The next day the family came over and all the kids opened presents from the family. There had to be 50 or more people there. It was wild!
Esther and Jose were so sweet and kind to let us stay with them. Their daughter Amanda let have us her room and their two littlest kids Jose Jr. & Olivia, entertained us (& especially Ezra) nonstop! They were a hoot! Actually, Micah and Amanda played guitar and piano and sang for us. Olivia, Jose Jr., Amelia and her cousin Amelie also performed for us too on Christmas night. It was so special, I just wish we would have had the video camera on.
Ezra slept great the whole trip and really did fantastic on the road. The first hour of the trip felt a little National Lampoony but thankfully it settled down. So many great memories!
