*********Open Letter to Non-believers at Easter*********

If you've ever been hurt by the church, or someone who calls themselves a Christian I want to talk to you. I want you to hear this. Jesus was hurt by "the church" too.

The entire crucifixion of Jesus was led by the priests and religious leaders of his day. They led all the accusations against Jesus. They led the riots. They took Jesus to be crucified. The religious leaders & priests led all of it.

How ironic that the very people who were supposed to be representing God to humanity, the very people whose job it was to help connect humanity to God were the very ones who separated the people from God.

People who allowed their own emotional insecurities, pride, jealousy, hatred & personal agenda's cloud their judgment so much that they not only missed knowing God in the flesh but encouraged others not to know him either. Who, with the same breath that they led others astray with, proclaimed that they were true followers of God.

Sound familiar? If you today would say that you've been hurt by Christians or even religious leaders, I want you to know that Jesus actually relates to you more than you know. That whatever hatred or hypocrisy you've seen in people was not right. It wasn't Jesus. Jesus is so much better than any of us could eve be. I still don't understand why God chose us flawed humans to carry this incredible gospel to the world, but He did. I know as much as I strive to represent Jesus as a disciple, I don't always get it right.

So today, I want to apologize to you on behalf of those Christians. Jesus is love. Jesus is life. Jesus alone is the only way to the Father. Our job as believers has always been and will always be to point to you to Jesus, never to stand in the way of you seeing him.

This Easter give Jesus a chance. Not a building, or a person, or an organization a chance, but give Jesus himself a chance. Ask him to reveal himself to you. Look at what he did on the cross for you and please forgive us flawed Christians who may have missed the chance to introduce you to him.

"The stone the builders rejected, has now become the cornerstone. There is salvation in no one else! There is no other name in all of heaven for people to call on to save them."
Acts 4:10-12
