Psalm 73
“Whom have I in heaven but You. There is none I desire but Thee. My flesh and heart fail, but God is the strength of my heart.”
The author turned from praying to God to declaring truths about God. I love this. There is power in our declarations. I love how David would declare things to himself to lift himself up when his soul was down. In Psalm 43 he says,
“Why so downcast Oh my soul, put your faith in God.”
As I sat to pray this morning. I heard the Lord say, “I want to speak to you, but there’s so much chatter happening in your mind.” And He was right. In a world overloaded with information & voices, I too am guilty of filling my mind with it all. All the voices, all the news, all the fears. Even the laundry and shoes on the floor in this picture seem to scream at me reminding me of all that I could be doing. Friends, it’s vital that we sit and focus our minds on Christ to clear away the chatter. (In the midst of the mess.) That we speak to Father but also listen to Him. That we declare His goodness, sometimes just for ourselves, so that His goodness and His faithfulness remains loudest in our days...above everything else.
Friends, let’s journey together in declaring He is the strength of our days. Without Him everything we do for our children, our families, our world is in vain. Are you with me? What are you declaring today?
