Another Day, Another Dandelion...

🌱🐌🌼❤️🌱🐌🌼❤️🌱🐌❤️ “Yes, we should encourage our children to love lions, elephants and giraffes. But it is also so important to foster a love for common creatures (the finches, dandelions, snails, pill bugs) those animals and plants that quietly and consistently show up in a child’s life. Through that practice not only do children bond with nature and place, but they begin to internalize, appreciate and seek joy in the everyday people, elements and ordinary magic that constitute a life.” -Nicolette Sowder

Ellie is wearing her wildflower crown she made and blowing her 100th dandelion this week. My kids are OBSESSED with dandelions! I used to mainly introduce my kids to exotic wild animals, talk about creatures they will never see. Exploring Nature with Children & My Father's World curriculums have broadened my views, as have the books "Call of the Wild and Free" and "For the Children's Sake". What a brilliant concept to teach the children to notice the every day things in life. My children are so much more observant of their world now. They have so much wonder at every living creature and they don't take one little miracle for granted.
